Service Engineer 2 Azure
Start and End Date: 4/17/17-6/30/17 – will extend until 12/31/17
Daily Schedule: M-F, 9-6am
Remote work from home possible up to 25%
Service Engineer 2 - Analyze and evaluate computer and business systems. Manage availability, scalability and efficiency of critical equipment and services. Review and influence ongoing standards and methods for operating services and systems. Provide administrative services in support of the production and non-production environment including design, setup, teardown, analysis, testing, system tuning, managing, and providing operational support for various elements within Azure environment. Assists in ensuring that the methodology is compliant with information technology guidelines. Fault identification, fault isolation, troubleshooting, logging, tracking, escalation, resolution and root cause analysis in a production and non-production environment. Performs deployment of Azure service, configuration updates, existing deployment expansions. Execution of configuration tools and production scripts. Other duties may include scripting or light programming, being a consultant for Azure service problems beyond the knowledge of technical support staff. Alternate titles include Site or Service Reliability Engineer. 2-4 years’ experience required.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Be able to quickly troubleshoot issues and be passionate about improving engineering processes.
The candidate must be self-motivated, able to quickly and appropriately prioritize work.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Will help drive the deployment of a fast-growing service to a number of new Azure regions
• Will be influencing and optimizing the engineering process (deployment and validation)
Skills & qualifications:
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team in an agile environment
• Experience with Azure resources (subscriptions, cloud services, storage account, SQL, service bus) and manageability
• PowerShell, XML
• TFS, Git experience
• Development experience is a plus
Years of experience: 2-4 years of experience in the IT industry. We need to see at least 6 mos-1 year of Azure tool experience. Should be able be comfortable with time management. Microsoft is not required, but a plus. Should have at least one year of access.
