Description

Perform diverse customer service functions including but not limited to: shipping confirmation processes, tracking finished goods inventories, assisting with cycle counts and various inventory control measures, and various related duties and clerical functions to firmly establish our Client as the Preferred Supplier.


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Requires a high school degree.

Effective written and oral communications, listening skills, ability to organize and retrieve information, and display adaptability.

Ability to work in a team based environment with little supervision.

Requires computer skills and must be familiar with Microsoft Office products, such as, Excel, Word, Outlook.


PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Some college preferred and previous experience in inventory control within a manufacturing environment.

Good reasoning/mechanical aptitude

Warehouse experience

Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing systems

Familiarity with safety programs in a manufacturing environment

INTERNAL CONTROLS RESPONSIBILITY

Internal controls are a vital part of the duties and responsibilities of this job. As part of training for this position, the person in this role is required to read the procedures and sign off that they have read and understand the duties / responsibilities with respect to internal controls.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

None


WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a 24 hour, 7 day a week manufacturing plant environment, with limited HVAC, exposure to dust, chemicals, temperature changes and noise. Minimum of 40 hours per week, additional hours may be required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to spend 6 to 8 hours per day standing and/or walking on plant floor, safely climb stairs to various levels within manufacturing plants and construction job sites, regularly lift 10 – 15lbs and up to 50lbs as necessary, climb on and off of forklifts and willing and able to go up into a man-lift, not being afraid of heights. Must also be able to stoop, navigate rough terrain and wear mandated personal protective equipment per areas accessed.

Requirements

Orders and manages packaging supplies.

Understand Bill of Ladings and Pick tickets.

Issues load plans for both truck and rail shipments

Dispatches shipments with contracted carriers

Prints pick tickets for upcoming shipments; identifies and resolves issues with pick slips, truck and rail.

Investigates rail issues with railroad

Completes required forms for Customer Returns

Enters purchase requisitions as necessary

Coordinates incoming / outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conditions of shipments.

Tracks team’s loading and unloading activities. Feeds the information to the Warehouse Supervisor to drive consistency and continuous improvement.

Arranges finished goods pulling on pick tickets to drive a FIFO environment.

Follows all safety policies, procedures, and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others.

Processes stock transactions to move material in and out of inventory as needed (IG, IA, and IK type transactions).
