Develop software programs of a complex nature, including operating systems, applications and/or network products. Develop project plans, functional specifications and schedules for these products. Design and perform analysis on complex programs and systems. Assist in determining product requirements, technical specifications, and enhancements



40-Hour Work Week

M-F, 9-5 Core Hours (Flexible start/stop times)

OT not Expected

(6-month assignment, possible extension based on budget and the contractor being a good fit)

Team is responsible for supporting contract migration. Need someone with solid backend development end experience. C# strongly preferred (C++ and Java is a nice to have), SQL, programming. Need someone with COSMOS scope – nice to have

This person will work specifically with the contract migration projects. Will work with backend storage for consumers. The team supports over 1 billion end users. Performance and scalability is key.

Need to backfill. The previous person was able to quickly ramp up, general curiosity – asked questions to understand “Big Picture,” able to navigate through code

Object oriented programming, SQL is a must, highly scalable systems.

Timeline is most important

Day to Day Responsibilities:

-We have a small feature for backend storage, will work on customer escalations

-problem solve and use troubleshooting skills

-50% of time will be working on customer escalation – identify and test to these escalations

-Small feature enhancements

-monitor and reporting with the current infatuations

-work with the team (of 5 engineers) to support day to day activities and tasks

-won’t work directly with customers, but will work with the support engineer

-will report into FTE and technical lead – connect for direction for day to day priorities and tasks

Ramp Up

Week 1: able to compile and read through the code. Have test environment set up

Week 2: work closely to get familiar with code, introduce to small “bugs”

Week 4: Working with the code, and close to being able to work independently,

Week 6: Fully ramped


Requirements

5-7 years’ experience.

C# - programming in C#, backend development experience – willing to review C++ and Java experience

Strong backend database experience.

SQL – familiar with queries. Relational database experience.

Web services experience. Developed a web service from scratch, or enhancing it.
